I totally changed the structrue of previous ME series and now it's using no xul structure. A lot of features in CCF full version won't be seen here like Adblock and IETab. So use it at your own risk please.

About localization of this build

The sources contain a kmeleonloc folder which permit to build a dll of ressources. Instead of "hacking" into the exe to localize k-meleon, you can translate the resources, build the dll, and put it in the k-meleon folder with the name k-meleonloc.dll. K-meleon will use it instead of its internal english resource.

You can make a language.cfg file to translate menus, toolbars and macro (as long as they use the new _T() function). This language.cfg must contain only a succession of line like :

"Original english text" = "Translated text"

The quotes are optionnal but must be used if there are spaces at the beginning or at the end of the string, or an '=' in the string.

Preferences depending on localization should be put in the defaults\pref\I10n.js pref file.

After last time when I posted a browser speed test, there are questions about which browser is faster between opera and K-Meleon. Then I have to redo this test with the latest K-MeleonCCF ME 0.046. For every test, I did 3 times with emptying cache. So here is the final result:

Although it has K-Meleon 0.8.2 data inside, KM 0.8.2 is using an old gecko 1.4 engin which is slow. So I decide to use its method to compare the speed of K-MeleonCCF with those latest browsers on Windows platform.

Dorian did modify a lot in his latest source and fix a lot of problems and include some new functions. Here is a list improvements compared with his previous source which is used in K-MeleonCCF 0.03 alphaX versions:

One very nice new function is when you type in address bar, there will be a drop down box under the address bar. This function is like the autocomplete function or at least works like that. Hope you all like it.

[Improvements]

- Builded to work outside GRE (but a bug in the api still prevent it)
- History now work with history.dat and autocomplete (so appcomps.dll is needed instead of embed_lite)
- Fixed download dialog (xul download manager is deactivated to avoid a crash at shutdown)
- Fixed xul dialog not responding when closed witth the X. For the buttons not reponding, chrome have to be edited. Some dialog use just return; when you click on a button and not window.close(). (I finally remembered that stuff :) They currently work that way : click on your choice then close it with the X.
- Right click menu: some actions are probably broken
- The drop-down of the url bar is not always hiding like it should

I totally changed my building from VC6 to VC7 and get some optimization of my version. And the rich text editing bug (Gmail) is also removed.

I did a speed test just now. This build is much faster than my PR10 and is very close to W-B build which is with Gecko 1.8a2. However, I havn't figuered out why some people have difficulty in running this one right now. But I think I would stick with VC7 now since it has a big speed improvements when building.

However, I still kept the previous chrome, that means the previous RSS bug still there, I will try to solve that one later.

[Gecko 1.8B2] K-MeleonCCF May 1st Special Edition

Here is an experimental version of K-Meleon with Gecko 1.8B2. And it should be the first one of K-Meleon with Gecko 1.8B2. So please forgive me any bugs inside.

First, the downloading dialog is broken as same as the one in my K-MeleonCCF Express B1. Guenter, don't try to fix it from chrome. I think it is because my modification of K-Meleon code.

I am using 1.8B2 chrome so although I am using the same menu of K-MeleonCCF 0.020 PR9, some of the items might not work.

And the chrome folder and components folder are not trimmed, so you will see a huge downloading size.

Anyway,

This version is very experimental. Use it as your own risk!

A litle introduction on how to use Password Manager

That's my fault not explaining this issue in detail before. To make the password manager work, you have to follow the these instructions:
1) Edit - Preference - General - Remember Password
2) Go to some web which ask for the password and save the password
This process will guaratee the KM's password saving function work and generate the right password file.
3) Tools-Password Manager-Input...
Input the installation pass (not the exe file) for the KM's installation.
Like. C:\K-Meleon
4) You should be able to use it now. (You may need to restart, not sure).

A little summary of the current K-Meleon CCF status

Some people are asking questions to me like this, since K-M 0.9 is coming out with all the new functions, why they need my customized version? So now, for clarity, I wrote this rough summary about my version.

What's the difference of my customized unofficial version from the official 0.9 K-Meleon: (Current version is K-Meleon CCF 0.019 PR2)

* Multi-Proxy function
User can setup the user-defined proxys and change between them very easily.
* Hotkey function
User can define hotkeys for the website/web adress for frequent surfing.
* Download Manager Setting
User can set up the user-defined Download Manager and use it to download the files from the right click menu at links.
* Font setting
User can setup the minimum font size from the Menu->Tools->Font size setting. A new function like this to setup the fonts will come in the next a few release.
* Right Mouse Button drag and drop functions
With modified mouse gestures plugin, two functions at this moment are added.
1) Right button drag and drop a link to open this link in a new layer/tab.
2) Right button drag and drop a image will open the "Save image as" dialog.
* jsnj's "Open All links in the page" function
It is from Menu->Edit->Open All links in the page
* Web page translation function
This function is implemented by Google's translation engin. Currently only the English->Chinese option is availabe. New translation option will be added with user's request.
* Protobion's new Qucknote function with toolbar's icon added
I think his idea is very nice for K-M users although his Qucknote version is buggy and less of fucntion. Hope he can develop a much better version in the future.
* Modified Phoenity Theme
Although I am not sure whether it is permitted or not, I modified the official Phoenity Theme to make it incorporate more function and more like other IE-Shell (Maxthon/Netcaptor) toolbars.
* Modified default settings for K-Meleon
I modifed a lot default settings from official K-M for convenient (at lease for me) use. Including:
1) Layer/Tab only browsing mode
2) Network optimizing configs
Add these at this moment:

There should be some other default settings change but I can't remember right now.

* UserContent.css change (Ad-Block functions etc.)
Add some functions in like Ad-Block functions
* 1.8 Gecko Engin in K-Meleon (Only availabe in 0.018 and 0.017 version)
Although it has some bugs inside, I incorporate Ulf's bleading 1.8 gecko core with my added functions in CCF 0.018 version. If you want to try it with this wonderful gecko engin with K-M, you can download and use it. The future release will try to incorporate the latest Gecko engin with latest K-Meleon 0.9 source.

...... More and more functions are coming.....

One important thing to mention: Almost all the functions added by Macros or Modified plugins will NOT add any more CPU or Memory usage than the official 0.9 version.

If you want to modify my version or release my version anywhere else, feel free to do so. For modification and re-publish, please note the original version and it is all you need.
And please feel free to use any ideas in my unofficial version if you want to use it somewhere else.

If the last official 0.9 K-Meleon wants to add the functions from my version, please feel free to do that.

And please help me broadcast/make more people know this version with the incoming official 0.9 version K-Meleon. So more people will have choices to choose a wonderful Gecko based browser. Thank you very much!

+ 修改并重新编译的gestures插件，现在支持按住Ctrl+鼠标左键拖动　＝　鼠标右键手势。　默认情况下，按住CTRL, 往右下或左下托拽链结将在后台标签打开该链结。　
（原先希望能够光靠修改鼠标手势插件达到鼠标托拽的功能，不过发现跟鼠标手势有冲突。所以现在实现的功能应该算是一种没有鼠标手势的补偿。）

[Modified gestures plugin]
